Loch Lomond has recently been named the 8th most picturesque lake in the world with Loch Ness coming in 9th! Lake Tahoe in the USA took the number one spot, if you were wondering. Now don’t get me wrong, I think Loch Lomond and Loch Ness are stunning… but I’m not actually convinced in these findings. It was a beautiful swim nonetheless.
I met a friend at Luss and managed to get parked relatively easily, although it was a warm, sunny day so the carpark was filling fast. It wasn’t free but it was super cheap and you could pay in small intervals for if you only wanted to stay 15 or 30 minutes. Click here for a Google Maps link. It was only a couple of minutes walk from the car to the water so after snapping a photo of some cute mushrooms, we headed down. The water level was really high and so the beach was tiny and was filling fast with people making the most of the nice weather. My friend, who swims there regularly said it was probably the highest she had ever seen it. The water was quite warm and the scenery was lovely. I would definitely go back for another swim!
